Port Old Pirates - Golden Oldies
The Port Adelaide Rugby Club plays in the Golden Oldies tournament sponsored by Air New Zealand. Our team is the Port Old Pirates or POPS.
The tournament is for over 35's and competes in both the Air New Zealand Golden Oldies Rugby Tournaments and local and visiting teams. This mission statement of the Golden Oldies movement is to prompt rugby through Fun, Friendship and Faternity.
Our side POPS has been to several tournaments;

- 2006 Wellington New Zealand
The next festival is in Sydney in 2010.

The following programme of matches has been scheduled for South Australian rugby veterans over the age of 35.

Game 5 12:00 noon, Sunday 1st August 2010 OLD COLLEGIANS [44 players]

MATCH ARRANGEMENTS
- The arrangements for the matches to proceed are that sufficient players indicate their intention to play by 5:00 pm on the Monday preceding the match.
- Email or phone Terry Hall: terry.hall@adelaide.edu.au or 0412 844 408
- If insufficient players respond then the match will be cancelled and those who have responded will be notified on the Tuesday preceding the match.
- The status of each match can be checked at the Adelaide University Rugby Union Football Club web site by clicking on Old Blacks.
- Matches will be played under Golden Oldies rules and all players must be insured under the ARGO (Australian Rugby Golden Oldies) insurance scheme.
- The Crippled Crows have this insurance for 2010; other players will be required to register with the South Australian Rugby Veterans before their first game and pay the fee of $45.
- Kick off will be 12:00 noon sharp. Be there by 11:30 am to register and warm up. The matches will be followed by a BBQ and drinks at the club bar.
